Visit Saltburn beach

Saltburn beach is one of the top-rated surf beaches in the UK, with the surf school being rated in the top five for learning to surf. The pier has an arcade, mini golf, and various beachside food and drink locations. You can also ride on the over 100 year old funicular railway.

Walks and Hikes

Saltburn and the surrounding areas have several walks for different levels, whether that be along the bay or the coastal path. Here's some recommendations to get you started.

Signals cafe & bar

Signals is our favourite breakfast destination in Saltburn. They do a great variety of brunch and lunch dishes as well as loads of delicious deinks and bakes. They cater very well for vegans and vegetarians. Also upstairs Taproom for great craft beer.

Milton Street Market

Newest addition to The food scene on Milton Street - a food hall inside the old Methodist church. With 4 food outlets and a bar it is very impressive. Run by the same people who run Number 23. Open Fridays and weekends.

Great for breakfast, coffee and cakes.

Yard coffee Shop

The newest addition to the Lilliandaph store is yard. an independent coffee shop serving the best coffee, cold drinks, cakes & fresh pastries in the lovingly & thoughtfully renovated old yard space.

Closest fresh coffee and cakes to the house.

Koselig

An independent artisan bakery specialising in the most incredible scandi-inspired pastries. Sit in with great coffee or takeaway. There's one cafe on Milton street and the original cafe and bakery in Guisborough plus a new cafe in Stokesley.

No. Twenty Three

A Friday night go-to for us. They do delicious fresh pizzas and a wide range of craft beers and gins.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - a complete all rounder plus cocktail bar.

Betty's Bagels

Another new addition to the Saltburn food scene, in the Station building near Sainsburys - fresh luxury artisan bagels plus coffee of course.

Brass Monkey Beers

Part of a local chain supplying a great selection of craft beers from around the world.

The Pillar Box

A friendly bar full of craft beers, wines and gins.

One Up - Redcar

A cafe and bistro with a cellar bar as well. We've only been for breakfast but if that's a guide then expect top quality food and drink.

Craig's bakery and coffeeshop - Marske

A great place for a coffee and cakes plus take home fresh bread and cakes for later.

The Seaview Restaurant

Featured in BBC's Remarkable Places to eat, the Seaview is not just a favourite of ours, but Nadiya Hussain's! The restaurant is famous for great quality seafood served at the table or from their takeaway

Real Meals Deli & Cafe

A superb little delicatessen that uses lots of its own products in its kitchen to cook for the cafe. Great for breakfast, filled baguettes, coffee and cake.

Willow's Cake Shop - Loftus

A hidden gem to get the most fantastic cakes and bakes. There is some sitting in their lovely garden. Beware they sell out quickly and check when they are open.

Cannoli Corner

Obviously a selection of Cannoli pastries plus fresh Italian coffee.

A specialty chocolate shop just two minutes walk from the house. Good for a quick treat or to stock up on gifts.

Lillian Daph

Named after the owner's two dogs it is a homewares, accessories, gifts and furniture boutique. Always worth a browse and now has Yard, a coffee and cake cafe hidden at the back.

Book Corner

A lovely little independent book shop on Milton Street.

Creation Saltburn

A creative hub in the heart of Saltburn, supporting local artists with affordable workshops and providing a beautiful emporium to display and sell unique artisanal products

The Candy Bank

Classic sweet shop with all your old favourites in jars lined up on shelves. There are also locally produced jams and Chutneys.

The Saltburn Framing Company

We've used them many times to frame pictures and posters plus they are a great place to buy limited prints and posters.

Only 10-15 minutes drive from Yonge's House, Kirkleatham has a walled garden, a local heritage museum, and an owl centre with a range of birds and small animals.
